Service 03
When your family grows and your home needs to keep up, we build additions that blend seamlessly with the existing structure — inside and out.
Additions are among the most complex residential projects — they touch structural, mechanical, and finish work simultaneously while the rest of your home stays occupied. We manage the whole scope, from permits and foundation through framing and finishes, so nothing falls through the cracks.
The goal is an addition that's indistinguishable from the original structure. That means matching the framing, trim profiles, exterior materials, and finish details of what's already there — not just getting close.
From a single-room bump-out to a full second story or primary suite addition, we plan and build it to match your home in quality and character.
How It Works
01
Architectural drawings, permit applications, HOA coordination if needed. We handle the paperwork and approvals so construction can start without delay.
02
Concrete poured, framing raised, roof tied into the existing structure. Done right from the start so the addition never looks or feels like an afterthought.
03
Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, trim, and paint — all matched to your existing home so the new space blends seamlessly with what was already there.
"An addition that feels like an afterthought is a failure. We match the existing structure in every detail — framing, trim, finish materials — so the new space feels like it was always part of the home."
Talk to MattHome Additions FAQs
How long does a home addition take?
Most home additions take 3 to 12 months to complete. The timeframe depends on project scope, permitting, weather, and other factors specific to your property. We provide a realistic schedule upfront and keep you informed with regular updates throughout construction.
Do you build ADUs and in-law suites?
Yes. We design and build private, self-contained living spaces with bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchenettes, and the features that suit your needs — whether for extended family, guests, or a rental unit. We handle permitting and ensure the space complies with Houston's local codes.
Can you add a second story to an existing home?
Yes. When lot space is limited, building upward is a smart solution. We carefully assess the existing structure, engineer the connection points, and match exterior details so the addition looks like it was always part of the original design.
Do you handle permits for additions?
We manage everything — architectural drawings, permit applications, HOA coordination if needed, and all required inspections. Additions are complex from a permitting standpoint and this is not a step you want to DIY or leave to a contractor who doesn't know the process.
