What Is the ROPO Approval Process for a New Home or Exterior Remodel?

Before building a new home or making any exterior changes, your architectural plans must be formally approved by the River Oaks Property Owners (ROPO) board.

The board categorizes construction into two types: Major Projects (such as building a custom home or adding a large extension) and Minor Projects (such as replacing a driveway or updating hardscaping).

Are There Neighborhood Restrictions on Construction Activity?

Yes. ROPO has certain restrictions for construction activity to preserve the quiet, affluent atmosphere of the community. Noise-making construction is strictly limited to 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or dusk (whichever comes first) on weekdays.

On Saturdays, construction cannot begin before 9:00 a.m. and must be completed by 6:00 p.m. Loud or disruptive construction work is not allowed on Sundays. We partner directly with subcontractors and suppliers to keep projects on track while respecting your neighbors and community standards.
